Start at the Kuching Waterfront, which is easily accessible from most hotels in the city. Walk towards the Main Bazaar, a popular area filled with shops and local crafts. Keep walking along the waterfront until you reach the Darul Hana Bridge. Cross the bridge, which offers beautiful views of the Sarawak River. Once you cross the bridge, continue straight until you reach the intersection with Jalan Main Bazaar. Turn left onto Jalan Main Bazaar and follow it until you arrive at the junction with Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. Turn right onto Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, and you will see signs directing you towards Fort Margherita. Follow the road until you reach the entrance to Fort Margherita.

Begin your journey at the Kuching Waterfront where you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops. Follow the path along the waterfront and head towards the Darul Hana Bridge. After crossing the bridge, continue straight on the designated bike paths. When you reach the intersection with Jalan Main Bazaar, turn left and cycle along the street until you reach Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. Here, take a right turn and follow the road signs that lead you to Fort Margherita. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace.

From the Kuching Waterfront, look for local boat services that offer rides across the Sarawak River. Board a boat heading towards the opposite bank, where Fort Margherita is located. The boat ride usually lasts around 10-15 minutes. Once you disembark, you will need to walk along the riverbank towards Fort Margherita, following the signs that will guide you.
