Make sure to arrive early to catch a boat to Pulau Perhentian Kechil.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu. Buses depart from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur. The journey takes about 8-9 hours and costs around RM 40-60. Once you arrive at the Kuala Terengganu bus terminal, take a taxi or ride-sharing service to the Kuala Besut jetty, which will take about 1 hour and cost approximately RM 60-80.

After reaching Kuala Besut jetty, you will need to take a boat to Pulau Perhentian Kechil. Boats operate from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with the last boat leaving at 5:00 PM. The boat ride takes about 30 minutes and costs around RM 70 for a round trip. It is advisable to purchase your tickets in advance, especially during peak season.
