Speedboat
The most common way to reach Fari Islands is via speedboat from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé. Upon arrival at the airport, a resort representative will escort you to the speedboat. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes, offering scenic views of the মালদ্বীপian waters. The round trip speedboat transfer costs approximately USD 798 per adult and USD 399 per child (ages 0-11.99), subject to a 10% service charge and 16% Goods and Services Tax (GST). Note that effective July 1, 2025, the T-GST will increase to 17%. Pre-payment is typically required for both accommodation and transfers. This cost is significantly higher than independently arranged transport, but is typically mandated by the resorts.
Seaplane
Alternatively, you can opt for a seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport (MLE) to Fari Islands. This offers a bird's-eye view of the মালদ্বীপian atolls. The seaplane transfer takes around 10 minutes. The round trip seaplane transfer costs approximately USD 1602 per adult and USD 801 per child (ages 0-11.99), subject to a 10% service charge and 16% Goods and Services Tax (GST). Note that effective July 1, 2025, the T-GST will increase to 17%. Seaplane transfers are typically booked for two-way transfers only. This cost is significantly higher than independently arranged transport, but is typically mandated by the resorts.
