Walking
From the center of Birgu, head towards the waterfront and walk along the picturesque marina. Keep the marina to your left as you walk towards the main street. Continue straight until you reach the end of the marina, and you will see a pedestrian pathway leading you to the ferry terminal. Follow the signs for the Valletta ferry. After a short ferry ride (approximately 10 minutes), disembark at the Valletta ferry terminal. Once off the ferry, head straight towards the main square, and you will find Independence Square straight ahead.
Public Transport (Bus)
Locate the nearest bus stop in Birgu, which is usually near the main square. Take bus number 81, 82, or 133 heading towards Valletta. The journey will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Valletta bus terminus, exit the bus and walk towards Independence Square, which is a short 5-minute walk straight ahead. Follow the signs directing you to the square.
