A taxi ride from Valletta to Mdina typically costs between €30 and €40, depending on traffic and the taxi service. The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Ride-sharing apps like Bolt, eCabs and Uber are also available. Taxis can drop off and pick up near the Mdina Main Gate or Greek's Gate.

From the Rabat bus stops, it's a short 5 minute walk to Mdina. Follow the signs towards Mdina Gate, crossing the bridge that connects Rabat to Mdina. The walk is mostly flat and offers scenic views of the fortress walls and surrounding landscape.

If driving, follow signs to Rabat and then Mdina. Note that no public parking is allowed inside Mdina. Several car parks are available just outside the city walls, including one near the Mdina Gate and another by the Rabat bus terminus. Parking is limited, especially on busy days. Parking attendants may be present, and payment is at your discretion. There are also parking spots available in the ditch under the fortifications, accessible through a narrow tunnel.
