From Valletta City Gate, walk down Republic Street towards Fort St. Elmo. Continue past St. John's Co-Cathedral and the Grand Master's Palace. Follow the signs for the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Take the Barrakka Lift down to the waterfront (€1 for the ride up, free to go down). The Valletta Ferry terminal is a short walk from the base of the lift. A single ferry ticket to the Three Cities costs €2.00, and a return ticket is €3.80.
