    To reach the Gozo Coastal Walk from Malta, take a ferry from either Ċirkewwa or Valletta to Mġarr Harbour in Gozo. The Gozo Channel Line operates a car and passenger ferry from Ċirkewwa, with a crossing time of approximately 25 minutes. Gozo Highspeed operates a fast ferry service from Valletta, exclusively for foot passengers, with a journey time of around 45 minutes. A return ticket on the Gozo Channel Ferry costs €4.65 for foot passengers. Tickets for the Gozo Highspeed fast ferry cost around €9.50-15 per person for a return ticket.

    Upon arrival at Mġarr Harbour, you can access various points along the Gozo Coastal Walk using the island's bus network. Route 301 operates frequently between Victoria (Rabat) and Mġarr, running every 30 minutes. Other bus routes connect Mġarr to various towns and villages across Gozo. A single bus ticket costs €2.50 during the day and €3 at night, and can be purchased directly from the driver. Consider purchasing a Tallinja card for discounted fares.

    Taxis are readily available at Mġarr Harbour. A taxi ride from Mġarr to Victoria, the capital of Gozo, costs approximately €15. The starting price for a taxi in Gozo is €5, with an additional €2 per kilometer. Pre-booked taxi services are also available.

    Several sections of the Gozo Coastal Walk are accessible directly from Mġarr Harbour. The walk towards ix-Xatt l-Aħmar begins on the uphill minor road by the left side of the police station, opposite the ferry terminal in Mġarr. Follow the uphill path and then the narrow earthen path to the left, which runs parallel to the coast. This section passes Fort Chambray and offers wonderful sea views.
