Carmelite Priory: A Tranquil Retreat in Mdina

Getting There

• Bus

  From Gzira, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Triq ix-Xatt. Take bus number 202 or 204 towards Valletta. After approximately 20 minutes, disembark at the 'Mdina' bus stop. From there, follow the signs towards Mdina's main gate, which is a short 10-minute walk uphill. Once you reach the entrance to Mdina, continue straight until you arrive at Triq IL Villegaignon, where you will find the Carmelite Priory.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk, start from the central area of Gzira and head towards the seafront promenade. Walk along the promenade until you reach the Sliema Ferries area. From there, continue walking towards Valletta on Triq il-Labour. Once you reach the main gate of Valletta, head to the bus terminal and catch a bus to Mdina or continue walking along the scenic route that leads to the old city of Mdina. This route will take approximately 1.5 hours on foot.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  For a more direct route, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare app. Simply request a ride to 'Carmelite Priory, Mdina.' The journey will take about 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm your destination with the driver.
