Car
From Marsamxett Harbour, head southeast on Triq il-Luzzu toward Triq il-Gardjola. Continue straight onto Triq Sant'Elmo and then take the first exit at the roundabout onto Triq Sant'Anna. Follow this road for approximately 10 km. Once you approach Mdina, you will see signs for Mdina Gate. There is limited parking available near the gate, so be prepared to park further away if necessary. Note that parking may incur a fee.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Marsamxett Harbour, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Triq il-Gardjola. Take the bus route 202 towards 'Valletta'. After approximately 15 minutes, transfer at 'Valletta Bus Terminal' to route 51, 52, or 53 heading towards 'Mdina'. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes in total. Once you arrive at the 'Mdina' stop, follow the signs towards Mdina Gate, which is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. The bus fare will cost around €2.00.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Marsamxett Harbour to Mdina Gate. The journey will take approximately 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxis can be hailed from designated taxi stands or booked via ride-hailing apps. The fare is typically around €15-€20. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
Walking (not recommended due to distance)
Although walking is not the most practical option due to the distance (about 10 km), if you choose to do so, head southeast from Marsamxett Harbour towards Triq il-Luzzu, then follow the main roads as previously described for the car route. Be cautious of traffic and be prepared for a long walk of approximately 2 hours.
