Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from the Northern District, head towards the main road leading south to Valletta. Use the A2 road, which will take you directly to Valletta. Once you reach Valletta, follow signs for parking. The nearest parking facilities are available at the Valletta Waterfront or on-site in various public parking areas around the city. Note that parking spaces can be limited, especially during peak tourist seasons. Once parked, you can walk to City Gate, which is located on Republic Street, just a short distance from the parking areas.

• Public Transportation

  To reach City Gate using public transportation, find the nearest bus stop in the Northern District. You can take bus routes such as 41 or 42, which frequently run to Valletta. The journey typically takes around 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Valletta terminus, follow the signs directing you towards Republic Street. City Gate is a short walk from the bus terminus, easily accessible by foot.

  After disembarking from the bus at the Valletta terminus, exit the bus terminal and follow the signs towards Republic Street. You will walk through the historic streets of Valletta, which may lead you past various shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the entrance to City Gate, which serves as a grand entrance to Valletta's old city.
