Getting There

Bus
From Paola, head to the nearest bus stop on the main road, Triq P. Cutajar. Take bus number 81 or 82 towards Valletta. The journey will take around 20 minutes. Once you arrive at the Valletta Bus Terminus, exit the bus and walk towards the city center. Continue straight along Triq Il-Lvant until you reach City Gate. From there, head down Republic Street, and then take a right onto St Mark Street. The Fortifications Interpretation Centre will be on your left.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from Paola Square. Head towards Triq Il-Kappillan Mifsud and continue straight until you reach Triq P. Cutajar. Turn right and walk until you reach the bus stop. From there, you can follow the bus instructions above or continue walking. If you walk directly, it will take approximately 45 minutes. Follow Triq Il-Lvant into Valletta, and then head straight to City Gate, turn right into Republic Street, and finally right onto St Mark Street where you'll find the Fortifications Interpretation Centre.

You can also take a taxi from Paola to Valletta. You can find taxis at various points in Paola, or you can call for one. The drive should take about 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Ask the driver to take you to St Mark Street in Valletta, and they will drop you off near the Fortifications Interpretation Centre.
