Metro
From any point in Bethesda, make your way to the Bethesda Metro Station located at 7400 Wisconsin Ave. Take the Red Line towards Glenmont. You will travel for about 5 stops until you reach the 'Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan' station. Once you arrive, exit the station and walk east on Connecticut Ave NW. The Smithsonian National Zoological Park will be on your right at 3001 Connecticut Ave NW, just a short 10-minute walk.

Head to any nearby bus stop in Bethesda and take the Montgomery County Ride On Bus Route 34 or 36 towards the 'Silver Spring Metro Station'. After about 20-25 minutes, get off at the 'Woodley Park-Zoo' stop. From there, walk north on Connecticut Ave NW for about 5 minutes, and you will reach the Smithsonian National Zoological Park at 3001 Connecticut Ave NW.

If you are near the downtown area of Bethesda, you can walk directly to the Smithsonian National Zoological Park. Head south on Wisconsin Ave, then turn left onto Connecticut Ave NW. Walk along Connecticut Ave for approximately 1.5 miles, and you will find the entrance to the zoo at 3001 Connecticut Ave NW. This walk will take around 30 minutes, and you will pass by a few shops and cafes along the way.
