From Bethesda Metro Station, take the Red Line train toward Glenmont. Travel for about 5 stops (approximately 12 minutes) and get off at the Dupont Circle station. Take the south exit toward 19th St NW. After exiting the station, walk south on 19th St NW until you reach Massachusetts Ave NW. Turn left on Massachusetts Ave and continue for about 0.5 miles. The United States Naval Observatory will be on your left at 3450 Massachusetts Ave NW.

From the corner of Wisconsin Ave and Montgomery Ave in Bethesda, catch the Metrobus route L2 or L8 towards Friendship Heights. Ride for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop at Massachusets Ave & 34th St NW. Walk about 0.2 miles east on Massachusetts Ave NW, and you will see the United States Naval Observatory on your left at 3450 Massachusetts Ave NW.

If you're near downtown Bethesda, you can walk to the United States Naval Observatory. Start at the Bethesda Row and head north on Wisconsin Ave. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Massachusetts Ave NW. Turn left onto Massachusetts Ave and continue walking for approximately 1.5 miles. The observatory will be on your left at 3450 Massachusetts Ave NW. Make sure to enjoy the scenery along the way!
