Walking
If you're starting from downtown Bethesda, head south on Wisconsin Avenue. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with the Capital Crescent Trail. Turn left onto the Capital Crescent Trail and follow it for approximately 1.5 miles. You'll be walking alongside a scenic path that will lead you toward the Potomac River.
Public Transit
From the Bethesda Metro Station, take the Red Line towards Glenmont and ride for one stop to the Friendship Heights station. Exit the station and head west on Wisconsin Avenue. Continue walking for 0.3 miles, then turn right onto the Capital Crescent Trail. Follow the trail for about 1.5 miles until you reach the Potomac River.
Biking
If you have a bike, you can rent one at a local bike-sharing station in Bethesda. Start by heading south on Wisconsin Avenue and then take the Capital Crescent Trail. This well-marked bike path will take you directly to the Potomac River. The ride is approximately 2 miles and offers beautiful views along the way.
