Start from the Laurel Town Center. Walk south on Laurel Towne Centre Way towards Route 1. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Cross Route 1 to continue on the same street. After that, take the bus or train to Washington, D.C. Depending on the bus or train schedule, it might take 30-45 minutes to reach the vicinity of Howard University. Once you arrive at the stop closest to Howard University, walk northwest on 6th St NW for about 10 minutes until you reach the university's main entrance at 2400 6th St NW.
Public Transit (Bus)
From the Laurel Town Center, take the Metrobus Route 17 towards Greenbelt. Get off at the Greenbelt Metro Station. From there, transfer to the Green Line Metro towards Branch Avenue. Ride for approximately 20 minutes and get off at the Shaw-Howard University Station. Exit the station and walk northwest on 7th St NW for about 10 minutes, then turn left on 6th St NW. Howard University will be on your right at 2400 6th St NW.
Public Transit (Train)
From the Laurel train station, board a MARC train heading towards Washington, D.C. The journey will take about 20 minutes. Disembark at the Union Station in D.C. From Union Station, catch the Metro Red Line towards Glenmont. Transfer at Gallery Place-Chinatown to the Yellow or Green Line towards Greenbelt or Branch Avenue. Get off at Shaw-Howard University Station. Walk northwest on 7th St NW and turn left on 6th St NW to reach Howard University at 2400 6th St NW.
