Public Bus
From Rockville, head to the Rockville Metro Station. Take the Metro Red Line towards Glenmont. Transfer at the Gallery Place-Chinatown Station to the Yellow Line towards Huntington. Exit at the King Street-Old Town Station. From there, catch the DASH Bus Route AT1 towards the Mount Vernon Estate. Get off at the Mount Vernon Distillery stop. The distillery is a short walk from the bus stop.
Metro Train
Start at Rockville Metro Station and take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Change at the Gallery Place-Chinatown Station for the Yellow Line towards Huntington. Disembark at the King Street-Old Town Station. From there, follow signs for the DASH Bus, take Route AT1 towards Mount Vernon Estate, and get off at the distillery.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle in Rockville. Head south on MD-355 S (Rockville Pike) until you reach the intersection with Route 1 (North Frederick Avenue). Continue on Route 1, which will turn into Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy. Follow the signs to George Washington's Distillery & Gristmill. The ride is approximately 10 miles and mostly flat.
Walking
Walking from Rockville is not practical due to the distance (approximately 18 miles). However, if you are feeling adventurous, head south on MD-355 S to Route 1, then follow Route 1 to Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy. This would take several hours and is recommended only for experienced walkers with proper planning.
