If you're traveling by car within Seneca Creek State Park, start from the main entrance at 11950 Clopper Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Follow Clopper Rd until you reach the parking area for Clopper Lake. The lake is approximately 2 miles from the entrance. There is no parking fee for accessing Clopper Lake.

Once you have parked in the designated parking area near Clopper Lake, you can walk directly to the lake. Look for signs leading to Clopper Lake; the walking path is approximately a quarter-mile from the parking area. The pathway is well-maintained and suitable for all visitors.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the Metro to the Shady Grove station. From Shady Grove, you can catch the Ride On Bus #56 towards Lakeforest Mall. Get off at the stop for the Seneca Creek State Park entrance. From there, it is about a 1.5-mile walk to reach Clopper Lake, following the park's internal roads and trails. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during warmer months.
