Getting There

  • Metro

    If you're starting from downtown Silver Spring, walk to the Silver Spring Metro Station. From there, take the Red Line towards Glenmont. Stay on the train for about 12 minutes (8 stops) until you reach the Fort Totten Station. Transfer to the Green Line towards Branch Avenue. After 4 stops (about 10 minutes), get off at the Georgia Ave-Petworth Station. From there, exit the station and walk northwest on Georgia Avenue for about 15 minutes until you reach Howard University, located at 2400 6th St NW.

  • Bus

    From the Silver Spring Transit Center, board the Metrobus Z2 towards the Fort Totten Metro Station. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Get off at the Georgia Ave & 6th St NW stop. From there, walk east on 6th St NW for about 5 minutes until you reach Howard University at 2400 6th St NW.

  • Walking

    If you are in the vicinity of Silver Spring, you can take a pleasant walk. Head south on Fenton St towards the Silver Spring Metro Station. Continue to Georgia Avenue and turn left. Walk north along Georgia Avenue for about 1.5 miles (approximately 30-35 minutes). Once you reach 6th St NW, turn left and walk for a couple of blocks until you arrive at Howard University, located at 2400 6th St NW.

  • Bike

    If you have access to a bike, you can cycle from Silver Spring to Howard University. Start at the Silver Spring Metro Station and head south on Fenton St. Continue to Georgia Avenue and turn left. Follow Georgia Avenue for about 1.5 miles, then turn left onto 6th St NW. Howard University will be on your left at 2400 6th St NW. The bike ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes.
