Train
Begin your journey at Boston's North Station. From there, take the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commuter rail on the Newburyport/Rockport Line towards Rockport. Make sure to check the train schedules in advance as they can vary. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at Salem Station. Once you exit the station, turn right onto Washington Street, then take a left onto Essex Street. Follow Essex Street until you reach the waterfront, where you can board a ferry to Misery Islands.
Ferry
If you are already in Salem, head towards the Salem Ferry Terminal located at 10 Blaney Street. From downtown Salem, you can walk or take a local bus to reach the terminal. Check the ferry schedule ahead of time, as the service may not be available during off-peak seasons. Once at the terminal, purchase your ticket for the ferry to Misery Islands. The ferry ride offers beautiful views and takes approximately 15 minutes. Upon arrival, follow the signs to explore the islands.
Bus
If you prefer to take public transport, you can catch the MBTA bus #450 or #455 from various locations in Boston to Salem. Board the bus at a nearby bus stop and enjoy the scenic ride. The bus journey takes about 40-50 minutes. Once you arrive in Salem, follow the directions above to the ferry terminal on Blaney Street to access Misery Islands.
