Getting There

Walking

If you are starting from Boston Common, head northeast towards the intersection of Charles Street and Beacon Street. Once you reach the intersection, turn left onto Beacon Street and continue walking until you reach the next intersection. From there, turn right onto Mt. Vernon Street. The Nichols House Museum is located at 55 Mt Vernon St, on your left side. It should take approximately 15 minutes to walk.
Public Transportation (Subway)

If you are near the Park Street Station, take the Red Line inbound towards Ashmont/Braintree. Get off at the next stop, which is the Downtown Crossing Station. Transfer to the Orange Line and take it towards North Station. Get off at the Haymarket Station. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk. Exit the station and head southeast on Blackstone Street. Continue straight until it merges into Congress Street. Turn left onto State Street, and then turn right onto Washington Street. Continue until you reach Beacon Street, then turn left. Finally, turn right onto Mt. Vernon Street, and the museum will be on your left.
Public Transportation (Bus)

If you are near the Government Center, take the #47 bus towards the Alewife Station. Ride until you reach the stop at Charles Street and Beacon Street. From there, walk northeast on Charles Street to Beacon Street. Turn left on Beacon Street and walk straight until you reach Mt. Vernon Street. Turn right onto Mt. Vernon and the Nichols House Museum will be on your left.
