Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from anywhere in Cape Cod, head toward Provincetown. From Route 6, take the exit for Provincetown and follow Route 6A into town. Once in Provincetown, follow Commercial Street until it turns into Race Point Road. Continue on Race Point Road until you reach the Race Point Lighthouse parking area. Please note that parking is required, and there may be a fee depending on the season.

• Public Transportation + Walking

  To reach Race Point Lighthouse via public transportation, take the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) bus service to Provincetown. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in Provincetown, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Race Point. The walk is about 2.5 miles from the bus terminal: head north on Shank Painter Road, then turn right onto Race Point Road. Follow Race Point Road until you reach the lighthouse. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest service times.

• Biking

  For those who enjoy biking, you can rent a bike in Provincetown and ride to Race Point Lighthouse. Start at the bike rental shops near Commercial Street in Provincetown. Follow the same route as if you were driving: head out on Race Point Road. The ride is approximately 2.5 miles and offers beautiful views of the dunes and coastline. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow local biking laws for safety.

• Walking from nearby locations

  If you're staying in accommodations near Race Point, such as the Race Point Beach area, you can walk to the lighthouse. From Race Point Beach, follow the signs for the lighthouse along the sandy path. It's a scenic walk of about 1 mile along the beach and through the dunes. Make sure to check the tide schedule to avoid any high tide issues along the beach.
