Car
If you're driving, start on Route 6 (Mid-Cape Highway) and head towards Sandwich. Take exit 2 towards Sandwich, and merge onto Route 130 North. Follow Route 130 for about 1.5 miles until you reach Ed Moffitt Drive. Turn left onto Ed Moffitt Drive, and the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center will be on your right at 60 Ed Moffitt Dr, Sandwich, MA 02563. There is ample parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) bus service. The 'Flex' route provides service throughout Cape Cod. You will need to check the schedule for times as they can vary. Request a stop at Sandwich, then from the bus stop, you can walk approximately 1.2 miles to the Visitor Center. Follow Ed Moffitt Drive towards the waterfront, and the center will be on your left. Note that bus fares typically range from $1.50 to $3.00 depending on your starting point.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy biking, there are bike paths leading to the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center. From Sandwich Village, you can take the Cape Cod Canal Bikeway. The path is well-marked, and will lead you directly to the Visitor Center. Ensure your bike is in good condition before setting out, as the route is approximately 2 miles from the village center.
Walking
If you are staying nearby, you can walk to the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center. From the Sandwich Village center, head south on Main Street, then turn onto Ed Moffitt Drive. The walk is about 1.5 miles and provides a scenic route along the canal. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially on warm days.
