Walking
If you're starting from downtown Gloucester, head southeast on Main St toward Washington St. Continue on Main St for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Washington St. Turn left onto Washington St, and follow it until you reach the Gloucester commuter rail station. From there, take the MBTA train toward North Station. After approximately 50 minutes, you will arrive at North Station in Boston. Once you arrive, transfer to the Red Line subway at the Haymarket station, heading towards Alewife. After about 10 stops, get off at Kendall/MIT station. Exit the station and walk east on Main St for about 0.2 miles. The MIT Museum will be on your right at 314 Main St.

From downtown Gloucester, take the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) bus route 450 from the Main St & Center St stop. This bus will take you to the Gloucester commuter rail station. Once there, board the MBTA train heading toward North Station. After about 50 minutes, transfer to the Red Line subway at Haymarket station. Take the train toward Alewife and get off at the Kendall/MIT station after about 10 stops. Once you exit the station, head east on Main St for about 0.2 miles, and you will find the MIT Museum located at 314 Main St on your right.
