    Public Bus

    To get to Post Office Square in Boston from Gloucester, start by walking to the nearest bus stop for the Cape Ann Transportation Authority (CATA) bus service. Look for the bus route that goes to the Alewife station. Once you board the bus, it will take you to the Alewife station, where you can transfer to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) subway system. Take the Alewife train inbound toward Ashmont/Braintree. At the Park Street Station, transfer to the Red Line and take it one stop to Downtown Crossing. Once you exit at Downtown Crossing, follow the signs for the Post Office Square, which is just a short walk away.

    From Gloucester, make your way to the Gloucester MBTA train station located at 1 Railroad Avenue. Board the commuter rail train on the Rockport Line heading towards North Station in Boston. The trip takes about 45 minutes. When you arrive at North Station, exit the train and follow the signs to the Orange Line subway. Take the Orange Line towards Forest Hills and get off at Haymarket Station. From there, exit the station and walk south towards the Government Center. Post Office Square is a short walk from there, located in the Downtown area.
