Bus
From downtown Lowell, walk to the Lowell Connector bus stop. Board the MBTA bus #350 towards Alewife Station. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach Alewife Station. Transfer to the Alewife subway line (Red Line) towards Ashmont. Ride for approximately 20 minutes and get off at Park Street Station. From Park Street, transfer to the Green Line (C or D train) and take it towards Government Center. Get off at Kenmore Station. Follow the signs to Commonwealth Ave, and you will find Boston University a short walk away.

Train
Head to the Lowell train station located at 200 East Merrimack Street. Take the MBTA Commuter Rail on the Lowell Line towards North Station in Boston. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at North Station, exit the station and walk to the nearby Haymarket subway station. Take the Green Line (C or D train) towards Government Center and get off at Kenmore Station. From there, it is a short walk to Boston University on Commonwealth Ave.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental services in Lowell. Start your journey by heading south on Merrimack Street towards the Pawtucket Canal. Follow the bike path along the canal, continuing on to the Northern Strand Community Trail. This scenic route will lead you towards the Alewife area. Upon reaching Alewife, navigate towards Commonwealth Ave in Boston where you will find Boston University. The ride may take about an hour, depending on your pace.

Walking
For those who enjoy walking, start at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell. Head south on Dutton Street until you reach the intersection with Merrimack Street. Turn left onto Merrimack Street and continue straight until you reach the bus terminal at the Lowell Connector. From there, you can catch a bus or train to Boston. However, walking directly to Boston University from Lowell is not recommended due to the distance, which is over 30 miles.
