If you are in downtown Gloucester, start by heading southwest on Main St toward Pleasant St. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Washington St. Turn left onto Washington St and follow it until you reach the Gloucester MBTA station. From there, take the train towards Boston and get off at the Alewife station. Once at Alewife, transfer to the Alewife bus Line 67 heading towards Alewife. After a 20-minute ride, disembark at Fresh Pond Mall and transfer to bus number 47 towards Alewife Station. After 15 minutes, get off at the Broadway stop. Walk a short distance north, and you'll arrive at the Cambridge Public Library at 449 Broadway.

From the Gloucester MBTA station, take the commuter rail towards North Station in Boston. After approximately 45 minutes, transfer to the subway (the 'T') at North Station, taking the Green Line towards Park Street. At Park Street, switch to the Red Line towards Alewife. Stay on the train for about 15 minutes until you reach Alewife station. From Alewife, take the bus number 47 towards Alewife Station and get off at the Broadway stop. Walk a short distance north to reach the Cambridge Public Library located at 449 Broadway.
