Getting There

    From your location in Lowell, walk to the nearest Lowell Transit bus stop. Catch the #1 bus towards 'Lowell Connector'. Once you reach the 'Lowell Connector', transfer to the MBTA bus #350 towards 'Billerica'. After approximately 30 minutes on the bus, get off at the 'Alewife Station' stop. From there, take the Alewife subway line towards 'Alewife'. After about 20 minutes, get off at 'Kenmore Station'. Finally, walk east for about 5 minutes towards Park Drive to reach the Back Bay Fens.

  • Train

    Head to the Lowell Station and board the MBTA Commuter Rail on the Lowell Line towards 'North Station'. After about 35 minutes, arrive at North Station. From there, transfer to the Green Line subway towards 'Braintree'. Get off at 'Kenmore Station' after approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you exit the station, walk east for about 5 minutes on Park Drive to reach the Back Bay Fens.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer riding a bike, rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in Lowell. Start by heading south on Merrimack Street. Continue straight until you reach the Riverwalk. Follow the Riverwalk until you reach the Concord River. Cross the river using the pedestrian bridge and follow the bike path to the south. Continue towards the nearby neighborhoods until you reach the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Park Drive. Follow Park Drive east for about 10 minutes to arrive at the Back Bay Fens.

Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Riverwalk. Walk along the Riverwalk until you reach the Concord River. Cross the river using the pedestrian bridge and continue toward Commonwealth Avenue. Follow Commonwealth Avenue until you turn onto Park Drive. Walk for about 15 minutes along Park Drive to get to the Back Bay Fens.
