Bus
From Lowell, head to the Lowell Transit Authority Bus Terminal located at 200 E Merrimack St. Take the #1 bus towards the Chelmsford Mall. Get off at the 'Lowell Connector' stop. From here, transfer to the #350 bus towards Salem. Stay on the bus until you reach the 'Salem, Brown St @ Essex St' stop. From there, it is a short walk to 9 Brown St, where the John Ward House is located.
Train
Walk to the Lowell Commuter Rail Station at 200 W. Aiken St. Take the train on the Lowell Line towards North Station in Boston. At North Station, transfer to the Fitchburg Line and take the train towards Fitchburg. Get off at the Salem station. Once you arrive at Salem, exit the station and walk approximately 0.5 miles to 9 Brown St, following the directions on your map.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Lowell. Head towards the Merrimack River and follow the river trail south. You will eventually connect to the bike paths leading toward Salem. Follow the signs to Salem, and once you reach the city, navigate to 9 Brown St, which should take about 30-40 minutes.
Walking
If you are close enough, you can walk to the John Ward House. Start from the center of Lowell and head south on Merrimack St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Bridge St. Turn left on Bridge St and follow it until you reach the intersection with Essex St. Turn right onto Essex St and continue until you reach Brown St. Turn left on Brown St, and you will find the John Ward House at 9 Brown St.
