Start at North Station in Boston. Take the MBTA's Commuter Rail on the Newburyport/Rockport Line towards Salem. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Salem Station, exit the train and head towards the main street (Washington Street).

From Salem Station, walk south on Washington Street for about 0.5 miles. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Essex Street. Turn right onto Essex Street. Ropes Mansion and Garden will be on your left at 318 Essex St, just a short walk from the train station.

From Haymarket Station, take the MBTA Bus 67 towards the Salem Depot. Ride the bus for about 45 minutes. When you get off at the Essex St & Washington St stop, walk west on Essex Street for a few minutes, and Ropes Mansion and Garden will be on your right at 318 Essex St.
