Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the Mohawk Trail State Forest's visitor center. Head south on Mohawk Trail (Route 2) toward Charlemont. Continue for about 2.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Tea Street. Turn left onto Tea Street and follow it for about 0.5 miles. Hyytinen Hollow will be on your left at 7 Tea St Exd, Charlemont, MA 01339. There is parking available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take the Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA) bus service that operates routes to Charlemont. Check their schedule for the nearest stop to the Mohawk Trail State Forest. Once you arrive in Charlemont, you may need to use a taxi or rideshare service to reach Hyytinen Hollow, as it is approximately 1 mile from the bus stop at the Charlemont Town Hall. Expect to pay for the taxi or rideshare, which typically costs around $10-$15. Confirm the fare beforehand.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and have a bicycle, you can ride from the Mohawk Trail State Forest to Hyytinen Hollow.
