    Walking

    If you are starting from downtown New Bedford, walk to the New Bedford Ferry Terminal located at 1 Ferry Road. From there, take the ferry to Vineyard Haven on Martha's Vineyard, which is a scenic ride that takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Vineyard Haven terminal, exit the ferry and head east on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with East Chop Drive. Turn left onto East Chop Drive and walk for about 1 mile. The East Chop Lighthouse will be on your right at 229 E Chop Dr.

    Biking

    For a more adventurous route, rent a bike from a local shop in New Bedford. Ride towards the New Bedford Ferry Terminal located at 1 Ferry Road. Take the ferry to Vineyard Haven, which will allow you to bring your bike. After disembarking, follow Main Street east and then take a left onto East Chop Drive. Biking along this scenic route will take you about 10-15 minutes to reach the East Chop Lighthouse at 229 E Chop Dr.

    Public Transportation

    From New Bedford, take the local bus service (GATRA) that connects to the ferry terminal. Check the GATRA schedule for routes going to the New Bedford Ferry Terminal at 1 Ferry Road. After arriving at the terminal, take the ferry to Vineyard Haven. Once you arrive, you can either walk or rent a bike, heading east on Main Street then turning left onto East Chop Drive.
