Bus
From your location in New Bedford, walk to the nearest bus stop that services the Peter Pan Bus Lines. You will need to take the bus heading towards Woods Hole. Once aboard, enjoy the scenic ride. After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, disembark at the Woods Hole terminal. From there, transfer to the Martha's Vineyard ferry. The ferry ride will take about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Vineyard Haven ferry terminal, exit the terminal and catch the VTA (Vineyard Transit Authority) bus towards Aquinnah. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop near 'Aquinnah Circle'. From there, it’s a short walk to Gay Head Light, located at 15 Aquinnah Cir, Aquinnah, MA 02535.
Taxi/Ride-share
If you prefer a more direct route, you can use a taxi or a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft. Simply request a ride from your current location in New Bedford to Aquinnah. The driver will take you through the scenic roads of Martha's Vineyard, and the trip will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Be sure to specify Gay Head Light as your destination, and the driver will drop you off right at 15 Aquinnah Cir, Aquinnah, MA 02535.
Bicycle
For the adventurous type, consider renting a bicycle in Vineyard Haven after your ferry ride. Once you arrive at the Vineyard Haven ferry terminal, follow signs to a local bike rental shop. After obtaining your bicycle, head west on State Road (MA-25) towards Aquinnah. The ride will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes, and you’ll enjoy beautiful views along the way. Follow the signs to Aquinnah Circle. Gay Head Light is located at 15 Aquinnah Cir, just a short ride from the circle.
