    From your location in New Bedford, walk to the nearest bus stop on Route 18. Take the Peter Pan Bus Lines (Greyhound) service towards Providence. The journey will take about 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Providence Bus Terminal, exit the terminal and walk west towards the intersection of Washington St and the Providence River. From there, catch the RIPTA Bus Route 1 towards Johnson and Wales University. Get off at the stop on George St. Walk a short distance to 94 George St, and you will reach the John Carter Brown Library.

    Head to the New Bedford train station at 134 Williams Street. Board the MBTA Commuter Rail service on the Middleborough/Lakeville Line towards South Station in Boston. Get off at the Stoughton station and transfer to the MBTA 220 bus towards the Ashland/Bellingham area. Ride until you reach Providence. Once you arrive in Providence, you can switch to RIPTA Bus Route 1 and follow the same instructions as above to reach the John Carter Brown Library at 94 George St.
