Bus
From New Bedford, head to the nearest bus stop at the corner of Purchase and Union Streets. Board the Peter Pan Bus Lines heading towards Woods Hole. Once you arrive at the Woods Hole terminal, transfer to the Steamship Authority ferry service to Martha's Vineyard. The ferry will take you directly to Oak Bluffs. After disembarking, follow the signs to Oak Bluffs Town Beach, which is just a short walk from the ferry terminal.
Bike
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in New Bedford. Start at the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park and head towards the bike path along the waterfront. Follow the path northeast until you reach the bike ferry service in Woods Hole. After crossing over to Martha's Vineyard, continue cycling towards Oak Bluffs. The beach will be well-marked and is easily accessible from the bike paths in the area.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore, you can walk to the ferry terminal in Woods Hole. Start by heading to the Acushnet Avenue and follow it west towards the waterfront. Continue walking towards the ferry terminal. Once on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, enjoy the scenic views. Upon arriving at Oak Bluffs, the beach is just a short walk away from the ferry terminal. Look for signs directing you to Oak Bluffs Town Beach.
