    From the center of New Bedford, head to the nearest bus stop at 1 Pleasant St, New Bedford. Take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) Route 60 towards Newport. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Newport, get off at the stop near 1 Washington St. From there, walk about 5 minutes towards the waterfront to reach the Rose Island Foundation.

  • Ferry

    From New Bedford, you can take the ferry service available at 1 Ferry Rd, New Bedford. Purchase your ticket for the ferry to Newport, which operates several times a day. The ferry ride takes about 1 hour. Upon arrival at the Newport ferry terminal, exit the terminal and walk towards Washington St. Turn left and walk approximately 10 minutes along Washington St to reach the Rose Island Foundation.

  • Walking

    If you are already in downtown New Bedford, you can enjoy a scenic walk to the ferry terminal located at 1 Ferry Rd. It is about a 20-minute walk from downtown. Once at the ferry terminal, board the ferry to Newport as described above. After reaching Newport, follow the directions to walk to the Rose Island Foundation.
