If you're starting from downtown New Bedford, head northwest on Purchase Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 18. Turn left onto Route 18 and keep walking until you reach the intersection with Route 195. Cross the road and take the pedestrian bridge towards the ferry terminal. Once at the terminal, take the ferry to Newport, Rhode Island. The ferry ride takes about an hour. Once you arrive in Newport, walk towards the main street and continue on America’s Cup Avenue. Follow the signs leading to Touro Park, which is roughly a 15-minute walk from the terminal.
Public Transport
From downtown New Bedford, take the local bus route 1 towards the South Terminal. Disembark at the South Terminal and transfer to the ferry service that operates from there to Newport, Rhode Island. The ferry ride takes about an hour. After arriving in Newport, you can catch a local bus or walk to Touro Park. If walking, head northeast on America’s Cup Avenue, then follow the signs to Touro Park, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal.
Bicycle
If you enjoy biking, you can rent a bicycle in New Bedford. Start your journey by heading northwest on Purchase Street, then turn left onto Route 18. Follow this road until you reach the ferry terminal. Park your bike at the bike rack near the terminal, then board the ferry to Newport. The ferry ride takes about an hour.
