Walking
If you're starting from downtown New Bedford, head south on Purchase Street towards the waterfront. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Elm Street. Turn left onto Elm Street and follow it until you reach the end, where it merges with Rodney French Boulevard. Follow Rodney French Boulevard for about 1.5 miles. Fort Rodman will be on your left at 1000 Rodney French Blvd. Look for the entrance near the water.
Public Transportation
From the New Bedford Whaling Museum, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Union Street. Take the Greater New Bedford Regional Transit Authority (GNBRT) bus Route 2 towards the 'Rodney French Boulevard' stop. This bus typically runs every 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the 'Rodney French Boulevard' stop, walk a short distance south on Rodney French Boulevard for about 0.3 miles until you reach Fort Rodman at 1000 Rodney French Blvd.
