Getting There

Walking
From the center of Provincetown, head east on Commercial Street towards the Provincetown Town Hall. Continue straight for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Shank Painter Road. Turn left onto Shank Painter Road and continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 6. At this point, you can choose to catch a local shuttle bus (P-Town Shuttle) that goes to Eastham. The shuttle will take you directly to the beach area. Get off at the Coast Guard Beach stop.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride along the scenic Route 6. Start from Commercial Street in Provincetown, head east towards Shank Painter Road, then turn left onto Shank Painter Road. Continue until you reach Route 6, where you will turn right. Follow Route 6 for approximately 8 miles, enjoying the beautiful views along the way. Look for signs directing you to Coast Guard Beach. There is ample bike parking available at the beach.

From Provincetown, you can take the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority bus (the 'Flex') which runs between Provincetown and Eastham. Board the bus at the designated stop on Commercial Street. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as the bus operates on limited hours. Get off at the Coast Guard Beach stop, and you will be just a short walk away from the beach entrance.
