If you're driving from downtown Salem, head south on Washington St toward Derby St. Continue on Washington St until you reach the intersection with Bridge St. Turn left onto Bridge St, which will take you out of the downtown area. Continue straight as Bridge St becomes Lafayette St. Follow Lafayette St until you reach the intersection with Route 1A (Newburyport Turnpike). Turn left onto Route 1A and continue for about 8 miles. Look for Argilla Rd on your right after passing by the town of Ipswich. Turn onto Argilla Rd, and Russell Orchards will be located a short distance down the road on your left at 147 Argilla Rd.
Public Transportation
To get to Russell Orchards using public transport, start at the Salem Depot which is located at 2 East India Square. Take the MBTA commuter rail on the Newburyport/Rockport Line towards Newburyport. Get off at the Ipswich station. From the Ipswich station, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Russell Orchards, which is approximately 3 miles away. If you prefer to walk, you can head northwest on Central St, then turn left onto Argilla Rd and walk for about 50 minutes to reach the orchard.
