If you are traveling by car, start by getting onto Route 3 from wherever you are in South Shore. Follow Route 3 North until you reach Exit 14 for Route 139 toward Kingston/Carver. Merge onto Route 139 and continue until you reach Route 58. Turn left onto Route 58 North and follow it until you reach Route 1 North. Continue on Route 1 North, then take a left onto Route 97. Follow Route 97 until you reach Perkins Row in Topsfield. The sanctuary will be located at 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield, MA 01983. Look for signs indicating 'Mass Audubon's Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary' as you approach.

If you are using public transportation, start by taking the MBTA Commuter Rail from South Shore to the nearest station, which is the North Station in Boston. From North Station, transfer to the MBTA's Orange Line and head toward Oak Grove Station. At Oak Grove, transfer to the Haverhill Line and get off at the Haverhill stop. Once you arrive in Haverhill, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the sanctuary at 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield, MA 01983, as public transportation options are limited directly to the sanctuary.
