If you're driving from anywhere in South Shore, first head towards I-93 North. Take the ramp to Boston and merge onto I-93 North. After about 7 miles, take exit 20A for I-90 East toward Logan Airport. Continue on I-90 for approximately 2 miles, then take exit 25 toward South Boston. Merge onto William J. Day Blvd. Follow the road for about 1 mile, and you will see Fort Independence on your left at 2010 William J Day Blvd, Boston, MA 02127. There is limited street parking available, and be mindful of any parking regulations in the area.

Public Transportation
To reach Fort Independence via public transportation, start by taking the MBTA's Commuter Rail or a local bus to South Station in Boston. From South Station, walk to the Red Line subway station and board the train heading toward Ashmont/Braintree. Get off at the Broadway station. From there, transfer to the bus route 9 or 10 heading toward Castle Island. After a 10-15 minute ride, get off at the stop near the intersection of William J Day Blvd. Walk a short distance down William J Day Blvd, and you will arrive at Fort Independence. A CharlieCard or CharlieTicket is required for fare payment, which costs approximately $2.40 per ride.
