Continue on Derby Street until you reach the intersection with Winter Island Road. Turn left onto Winter Island Road. Continue for about 1 mile, and Fort Pickering will be on your right at 50 Winter Island Rd, Salem, MA 01970. There is parking available near the fort.
Public Transportation

To reach Fort Pickering via public transportation, start at the Salem MBTA station. Board the #450 or #455 bus toward 'Winter Island'. The bus will take you along a route that leads to Winter Island. Get off at the stop nearest to Winter Island Road, and walk approximately 0.5 miles down Winter Island Road to reach Fort Pickering. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for departure times.
Walking

If you are already in the downtown area of Salem and prefer to walk, you can take a scenic route. Start at the Salem Common, head towards the waterfront and follow the pathway along the coast. Continue towards the Winter Island area, which should take approximately 30-40 minutes of walking.
