Public Transportation
From Waltham, head to the nearest bus stop that services the MBTA. Take the #70 or #70A bus towards Alewife Station. After about 20-25 minutes, get off at Alewife Station and transfer to the Red Line subway towards Ashmont/Braintree. Ride the subway for approximately 25 minutes and get off at Downtown Crossing Station. From there, walk about 5 minutes towards Post Office Square, which is located in Downtown Boston. Look for the large square surrounded by buildings.
Walking
If you are near Waltham Common, start walking south on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Moody Street. Turn left onto Moody Street, and keep walking until you reach the Waltham MBTA Commuter Rail Station. From there, take the train heading towards South Station. After a 30-minute ride, get off at South Station. Exit the station and walk north on Atlantic Avenue for about 10 minutes to reach Post Office Square.
Bicycling
If you prefer biking, start at Waltham Common and head south on Main Street, then take a right on Moody Street. Follow Moody Street until you reach the Charles River Greenway. Cycle along the river path towards Boston. Once you reach the Boston city limits, continue along the river until you find a bike lane leading into the downtown area. Follow the bike lane signs to Post Office Square; it should take about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your speed.
