Proctor's Ledge Memorial: A Tribute to Salem's History

Getting There

• Bus

  From Waltham, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. Take the MBTA bus #67 towards Alewife Station. Ride for approximately 30-35 minutes until you reach the Salem Depot Station. Once you arrive, exit the bus and walk towards Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Proctor Street. Turn right onto Proctor Street, and after a short walk, you will find Proctor's Ledge Memorial on your left at 33 Proctor, Pope St.

• Train

  Start at the Waltham Train Station. Board the MBTA commuter rail on the Fitchburg Line heading towards North Station. Travel for about 20 minutes until you reach the Salem Train Station. Once you arrive, exit the station and head east on Washington Street. Continue straight until you reach Proctor Street. Turn right onto Proctor Street, and you will find Proctor's Ledge Memorial at 33 Proctor, Pope St on your left.

• Bike

  If you have a bike, start from Waltham City Hall and head north on Main Street. Follow Main Street until you reach the intersection with Route 60. Turn left and continue straight to join the bike path. Follow the path for approximately 8 miles. As you approach Salem, continue onto Washington Street. At the intersection with Proctor Street, turn right and cycle a short distance to find Proctor's Ledge Memorial at 33 Proctor, Pope St on your left.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk and you are starting from downtown Waltham, head north on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the corner of Main and Lincoln Streets. Turn left onto Lincoln Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Washington Street. Turn right onto Washington Street and follow it all the way to Salem. Once in Salem, keep walking straight until you reach Proctor Street. Turn left onto Proctor Street, and you will see Proctor's Ledge Memorial at 33 Proctor, Pope St on your left.
