Getting There

• Public Transit (Bus)

  From Waltham, head to the Waltham MBTA Commuter Rail Station located at 75 Maple Street. Take the Fitchburg Line towards Boston and get off at the North Station. Once you arrive at North Station, follow the signs to the Haymarket Station and transfer to the Green Line. Take the Green Line train (C or E branch) towards Heath Street and get off at the Arlington Station. From there, walk south on Arlington Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with Marlborough Street. The Ether Monument will be at the corner.

• Walking

  If you are near the Waltham Common, you can simply walk towards the south. Head down Main Street (Route 60) towards the south until you reach the intersection with Waverley Oaks Road. Continue straight as it becomes Trapelo Road, then take a left onto Common Street. Follow Common Street which merges into Prospect Street, and then continue onto Washington Street. From Washington Street, turn right onto Arlington Street and keep walking until you reach the intersection with Marlborough Street, where the Ether Monument is located.

• Public Transit (Train and Subway)

  Catch the MBTA Commuter Rail from Waltham Station on the Fitchburg Line heading towards Boston. Alight at the South Station. From South Station, follow signs to the Red Line subway and take the train towards Alewife. Transfer at Park Street to the Green Line and take the Green Line towards Government Center. Get off at Arlington Station. Walk south on Arlington Street for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with Marlborough Street.
