• Car

  If you are driving from Tijuana, take the Mexico 1 highway south towards Ensenada. Continue on the highway for approximately 90 miles (145 km). Once you reach Ensenada, follow the signs for Mexico 3 towards San Felipe. After about 10 miles (16 km) on Mexico 3, you will reach the junction for the road leading to Puerto Escondido. Turn left onto this road and follow it for about 15 miles (24 km) until you reach Cabo Punta Banda, located at 22794 Puerto Escondido. Ensure to have cash for tolls and fuel, as these can add up during your journey.

• Public Transportation

  From Tijuana, take a bus from the Tijuana Central Bus Station to Ensenada. The journey takes about 2-3 hours, and tickets typically cost around 200-300 MXN (10-15 USD). Once in Ensenada, you can catch a taxi or a local bus heading towards Puerto Escondido. It’s advisable to confirm with the driver that they will pass Cabo Punta Banda, as some might only go to Puerto Escondido. The taxi fare from Ensenada to Cabo Punta Banda should be around 400-600 MXN (20-30 USD) depending on the negotiation and time of day. Make sure to carry some cash for these local transport options as credit cards may not be accepted.

  If you prefer a rental car, several agencies are available at Tijuana International Airport or in downtown Tijuana. After picking up your rental, follow the same driving directions mentioned above. Rentals typically cost around 600-1200 MXN (30-60 USD) per day depending on the vehicle type and insurance options. Keep an eye on the fuel gauge, as there are few gas stations after Ensenada.
