Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car within the Bajio region, you can start your journey from Guanajuato City. Head south on the Mexico 45 highway toward León for approximately 45 minutes until you reach the town of Manuel Doblado. From there, take the exit toward the Mexico 90 highway and continue heading west for about 30 minutes. Look for the signs indicating Comanja Viejo, which will be on your right after you pass through the small town of Comanja. The journey should take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Comanja Viejo by public transportation, start from Guanajuato City and take a bus to León. Buses depart frequently from the main bus terminal and the trip takes about 1 hour. Once in León, transfer to a bus heading toward the town of Manuel Doblado. After arriving in Manuel Doblado, you can take a local taxi or a shared van (known as 'colectivo') to reach Comanja Viejo, which is about 30 minutes away. The total travel time should be around 2 to 3 hours depending on the waiting times for transfers. Be prepared to pay for each leg of your journey: approximately MXN 150 for the bus to León and MXN 50 for the local transportation to Comanja Viejo.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  For a more direct route, you can also opt for a taxi or ride-sharing service like Uber from any location in Bajio directly to Comanja Viejo. If you are in León, the ride will take approximately 1 hour and may cost around MXN 600 to 800, depending on the traffic and time of day. Make sure to confirm the price with the driver before starting your journey.
