Car
If you are traveling by car, get on the Mexican Highway 57 (Carretera Federal 57). From cities like San Luis Potosí or Querétaro, head towards Ciudad Valles. Once in Ciudad Valles, take Highway 85 towards Xilitla. Follow the road signs directing you to Xilitla for about 1 hour. Upon arriving in Xilitla, look for signs leading to Las Pozas, which is located just outside the town. You will need to drive along Camino Paseo Las Pozas. Be sure to check the local traffic regulations and road conditions. Parking is available near the entrance to Las Pozas, but there may be a small fee.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from your location to Ciudad Valles. Several bus companies operate in Central Mexico, and you can find schedules online or at local bus stations. Once in Ciudad Valles, transfer to a bus heading to Xilitla. The journey typically takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Xilitla, you can either take a taxi or a local colectivos (shared van) to reach Las Pozas. The taxi may cost around 100-150 MXN, while a colectivo will be cheaper, approximately 20-30 MXN. Confirm the fare with the driver before the ride.
Combination of Car and Walking
If you have a car but prefer to park and walk, you can drive to Xilitla and park in the town. From there, you can take a leisurely walk to Las Pozas, which is about 2 kilometers away. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Camino Paseo Las Pozas. This route allows you to enjoy the local scenery and atmosphere of Xilitla. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes, as the walk may include uneven terrain.
Use Las Pozas as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
