Bicycle
If you're in Cozumel's downtown area, head south towards the coast and rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Once you have your bicycle, take Avenida 30 Sur heading south until you reach the intersection with Avenida 20. Turn left onto Avenida 20 and continue until you reach the Carretera Costera Sur (the main coastal road). Turn right and follow the road for about 30 minutes. Keep an eye out for signs pointing to Akumal as you approach. The Akumal Monkey Sanctuary will be on your right, just past the main entrance to Akumal.

From anywhere in Cozumel, you can easily catch a taxi. Simply go to any major street or your hotel lobby, and ask for a taxi to Akumal Monkey Sanctuary. It’s about a 30-minute ride, so make sure to confirm the fare before getting in. The taxi will take you directly to the entrance of the sanctuary located at Camino a Uxuxubi S/N Predio Santa Pilar Lote 16.
