    From Tulum town center, head east on Avenida Tulum until you reach the intersection with Carretera Tulum-Cancún (Highway 307). Turn left onto the highway and continue north for about 23 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Akumal. After approximately 23 kilometers, take the exit towards Akumal and follow the signs to Akumal Monkey Sanctuary, located on Camino a Uxuxubi. The sanctuary will be on your right.

  • Collective Taxi

    From Tulum town center, walk to the main road (Carretera Tulum-Cancún). Look for a collective taxi (shared van) that is heading towards Akumal. Be sure to say 'Akumal' to the driver when you board. The ride should take around 20-30 minutes, and you will be dropped off at the entrance of Akumal village. From there, walk along the main road until you see signs for Akumal Monkey Sanctuary on Camino a Uxuxubi, which is about 1.5 kilometers from the village.
